Privacy & data retention
What we store
We store what an order needs and nothing more: your email address, the items you ordered, a shipping address for physical orders, and — for custom prints — the image you upload plus the 3D model files we produce from it. Payment details are handled entirely by Stripe; we never see your card number.
Upload retention
Images uploaded but never turned into a paid order are deleted automatically after 7 days. For custom orders, your uploaded photo and the 3D model files (preview and print files) are deleted 30 days after delivery. Order records (what was bought, when, and where it shipped) are kept as required for accounting.
Cookies
Smeltbay uses a single functional session cookie to connect your uploads to your order. There are no analytics trackers, advertising cookies or third-party marketing scripts, so there is nothing to consent to.
Emails
We send transactional email only: order confirmations, download links, preview notifications and shipping updates. No newsletters, no marketing.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time — contact details are on the imprint page.
